This is pretty cool! Is there any chance of you adding in-game music/sound settings?
HL: Minimal Edition
A downloadable game for Windows
HL: Minimal Edition
My attempt to make something in the world of Half-life! It is a small level with lots of jumps, headcrabs and one angry houndeye. I hope you enjoy it!
* The game uses the original sounds from the Half-Life.
In case if you missed it, check out my old post-jam update called Minimal Freeman 0.1
"It is still unclear to me exactly what brought down our little aircraft. The following hours spent traversing the frigid waste in a blizzard are also a jumbled blur, ill-remembered and poorly defined."
I wanted to show how Gordon Freeman finds an abandoned research station G-Malamute after the helicopter crash, and without another path, he have to go through it.
The station and gameplay inside it had to look and feel completely like the first Half-Life. I wanted to return some of the monsters that disappeared in the second part of the series.
Since I'm not an artist, I drew all the characters in a very low-res pixel art. I hope it has some charm : )

DOPE GAME!!! WISH IT WAS LONGER.
It was fun. I couldn't make the last jump though.
We Loved it.
Thank you so much for making this :D
I really enjoyed the game! Had a fun time, and got a decent video out of it. lol
I screamed like a little girl at one point so...that's one thing my video's got going for it.
very juicy and responsive. it'd be cool to see a game that looks and feels like this, but had a story or something. nicely done, and doubly so for a jam.
This was great. We had a lot of fun with it.
Here is a short video we made while playing:Keep up the good work!!!
Can I have a small request for invert mouse Y axis option?
will the game be just a level? or will have more levels?
Btw, would Minimal Freeman be the prequel to this?
Awesome game. I've been trying myself to create a player controller that feels like yours but no luck :/ , it's so smooth and awesome that i can't really explain it. Anyway i also made a video right here
GREAT GAME ! had fun playing it !
best game ever 10/10 (:
I like how flimsy the crowbar is, adds a lot of character to the game. Also when will the rest of the levels be released because I found myself replaying this a bunch.
Great game man! Fun playing it! everyone should play this game! i'm looking forward for more! :)
This is awesome. Great job :D
I really liked it please make longer levels more details ????
I had a lot of fun with this game!
I know ya mentioned you opted for pixel art since you're not the best artist, but I love it! The art actually originally attracted me to the game :P
Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed watching your video :D
i really enjoyed it ^_^ i hope there is more
I really enjoyed this game. I loved the way you used the pixel art and the normal 3D graphics together. I had allot of fun playing through the game and I bet you could make another game using this sort of art style and it would do well. Here's my gameplay video:
Thank you for the nice video and your feedback! :D
Yeah, I will definitely do something more in the future with that kind of style 😌
Your lighting and level design rules. I like your lil' baddies too.
I had a lot of trouble on the platforming parts though. I kept falling before I jumped. Kind of like Turok did back in the N64 days. Maybe extend your collider a little bit or something.
I kept falling before jump too.
Thank you for your feedback!
I've just added a new version (v1.01), in which the jump from the edge became easier. I hope it helps : )
Like please :)
cool game bro this is really fun I hope that you can add more levels to it keep up the good work
great game! I really enjoyed playing it. Also hope you enjoy the video I made
How do I run it?
Just download the archive, unzip it and run hlme.exe
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows download hlme_32.zip
I kinda sucked as well but I thought it was pretty well produced. I enjoyed playing the game and here's the video.
I suck at this, but I love the art!
